You Can’t Get There From Here! Navigating Life by Quantum Leaps.

“You Can’t Get There From Here!” As senseless as this may sound, it really does communicate a truth: You can’t get to where you want to go by using the same life-model that you’ve always used. We all love Einstein’s definition of Insanity…“It’s Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” But few of us are willing to do something about it. What we need is a “Quantum Leap” in life!

A Quantum Leap (or jump), in physics, is an abrupt transition when an electron within an atom advances to a higher energy level. So…what makes that happen? One source I researched suggested: “when light shines on the atom, if the electron can “absorb” just the right amount of energy from the light, then it jumps to a different orbit.” Very Interesting! And when an electron jumps, it “emits electromagnetic radiation, including light, which is called photons.” Again…this is Very Interesting!

So, what am I saying? If God is calling you to a Higher Level in Him, you can’t get there by living the same way as you’ve always lived. You need to “absorb” God’s LIGHT! Here’s what Light does for you:

1. It’s a Revealing Agent (John 3:20-21). Just as natural light reveals discrepancies in the surface of an object, so God’s Light reveals things that must change if you are to function at that next level.

2. It’s a Cleansing Agent (1 John 1:7). Knowing that you can’t “earn” God’s favor by trying to be good, He graciously cleanses you from the sin that His Light reveals. Without that cleansing, you’ll never have confidence to walk in a higher level with God (Is. 6:5-8).

3. It’s a Seeing Agent (Ps. 119:105, 130). Even God’s word has light built into it. His word shows you what to do, what to stay away from and how to keep from stumbling (John 11:9-10).

Now, if you believe God is calling you to that Higher Level in Him, the question is: “How can I ‘absorb’ Light?” Consider the following:

1. Find Where Light is Shining and Walk in It. Light shines in an anointed worship service, when you read or study God’s word and during fellowship with a dear Christian friend.

2. “Absorption” only Happens when the Heart is Open. Like the pedals of a flower that open with the morning sun, so it is with you. A closed or embittered heart shuts out God’s life-giving Light.

What Happens when God Calls me into a “Higher Level” in Him? How Then Will I Live?

1. You’ll live a “Changed” Life (Matt. 4:16-17; 2 Cor. 7:9-10). The Light of God’s Kingdom causes change (repentance). You’ll leave excess baggage behind and bring with you a New Life in Him.

2. You’ll Never Want to Live in Darkness Again (Eph. 5:7-16)! Once you’ve experienced the purity of God’s Light, your old lifestyle becomes a dead-end street…there’s no going back!

3. You’ll Become Light (John 8:12; Matt. 5:14-16)! Like the little electron that emits light when it jumps to a higher orbit, so will you. That, my friend, is called your “Witness” to the world.

4. You’ll Live as a Warrior of God (Rom. 13:12). With the armor (weapons) of Light, you’ll be equipped to war against spiritual darkness with the supernatural power of God (2 Cor. 10:3-5).

Finally, if you think this truth is just for new Christians, you couldn’t be more mistaken! Regardless of how experienced or mature you “think” you are…God is calling you higher into His Light with Him.
